Book Review on Little women by Louisa May Alcott

“Little women”, is a semi autobiography, Which Louisa May Alcott wrote to cherish her times with her three sisters and also to honor women denied of their rights to live their dreams during American’s civil war (1861-1865).  “Little women”, is a righteous book which made me go through various stages of emotions, it made me laugh at times and in other time, it made me cry and most of all this book inspired me a lot. “Little women”,  is the must read book, if you are righteous women of ambitions and dreams because dreams is the only thing which keep us going in this so called brief and gorgeous life.

This beautiful novel describes the lives of women raised to be hard workers during American civil war. All men including March Family’s sole bread earner has left for war.  In absence of father, March family’s four daughters are left to figure out their lives with their mother. The book depicts the struggle faced by March sisters to survive against stereotypical notions. They cannot apply for jobs like men as there wasn’t a place for women to be genius. Women’s lives were only fit for marriage and not for career. And through the characters of the four daughters reveals the position and discrimination against women during 1800s. Little women as title has it, is depicted in each character’s trait, for instance Josephine in being tough in patriarchal society to earn a living to support her family and Meg on other hand sacrificing one’s dreams for marriage. If women marry well, it was considered success however if women failed to find a wealthy husband it was considered as a failure in one’s life. Basically, this book revolves around gender biases, ambition versus marriage, and Aristocrat family versus underprivileged groups and patriarchal society against women’s dreams. The book conveys message that, little women growing up somewhere else should know that life is not always about party and pleasures, it’s about becoming resilient to aspire for one’s dream.

  2. After going through this book review, I feel very motivated to chase my dream and not to depend on a man. Why to discriminate girls when their abilities isn't showcased as they are not given a chance to do so. Society need to respect woman and help them to achieve their dreams. We need to focus on our career at the present moment because other things such as marriage can wait.

  4. After going through the book review on the book titled "little women" I come to know that women faced lots of difficulties that of men during olden days.Women were only considered useful to marry but not for careers. They were always been discriminated and reminded of their position. The society underestimated women. They were not provided with the freedom to follow their dreams.I also understood that we should not depend or ask for permission from others to chase our dreams instead we should raise our voice and have courage to pursue our dreams

  5. After a quick scan in the given review, I knew that woman's life is not as easy as a cup of coffee because during the olden days the society used to discriminate women from the man. This resulted no place for women to work but for mirrage but now it is different, the women also have freedom and right to follow their dreams to come into reality. This review inspired me to chase my dreams even if a wall stands to put a stop in my life. No matter what shows up in the journey of life, if we could make our dream into reality the reward will be waiting for us.

  6. Women's successful life do not depend upon whether they find rich husband or a poor one.It actually depends upon the ambition and goals we women achieve. There shouldn't be gender inequality. There shouldn't be discrimination between mena dn women. We women aren't made to marry. We should be also treated equally to men.

After going through the book review on the book titled "little women" I came to know that people especially the women had to bear many difficulties than man as women were considered to be only for marriage and not more than that. Women didn't have rights for their careers which is very unhappy to hear and they were also being discriminated. This review motivated and inspired me a lot to chase my dream and to fight for women rights as we all are human beings, we have our own rights to do what we want to become . No one has right to stop one's opinion . And for that we have to raise our voice .

  11. After going through this brief summary title "Little Women" I would Iike to state that in 18th century girls were treated like slaves and people had that notion that girls should marry wealthy husbands, if they does not want to suffer but today we can see that women stand own their on feet. Today we can see that women does not depend own their husband wealth as they depend on their own earned wealth. The main massage is that life is not always as we think but girls never let go your dream become more ambitious.

  12. The book called "Little Woman" by Louise May Alcott was inspiring. In the oldest days, women are indeed treated more than animals, and their success is seen in what husband they choose and stayed at home with. This book has told the history of women who had no dreams and ambitions and suffer from gender discrimination. For the farther generation of women, we had to keep on dreaming to be someone, that can only give us a brief and gorgeous life with purpose.
