Essay sample 1- E-Learning and it's cons.

 

The Global Pandemic have done more harm than good. Pandemic have been grave experience on people globally as it led to deaths, sickness, loss of jobs and impacted economy globally. It affected various sectors in particularly, education sector more. Nation lockdown have led to increased use of technologies which made people complacent. Excessive use of technologies have hindered learning and e-learning system have led to education poverty among underprivileged section of the society.

The nation Lockdown compelled ministry of education to opt for online platform to ensure the continuity in learning. But the use of technologies have increased screen time wherein, it made students complacent about their learning. Unlike in conventional classroom, they depend on gadget to study or do their work. Additionally, increased screen time have led to use of technologies which made Bhutanese students reluctant and complacent about their academic duties as cited in kuensel(July,28,2020). 

The online platform have helped schools to continue education and have fulfilled academic  targets, However, the excessive use have hindered learning. Ministry of education upon closure of school started tele-education however, many students from remote section of the society missed and the one's who accessed  could not use it well as many students used it for other purposes like gaming. As a result, many students became addictive and complacent and discontinued their education as cited in the Bhutanese (2020).

E-learning have led to education poverty among underprivileged part of the society though it helped school continue education. As per the Ministry of Education as cited in kuensel (July,2020), Ministry did all in its capacity to keep students engaged during the school closure by spending millions in developing study materials like self instructional materials. However, it was observed that children dropping out of schools increased in compare to previous years. As per the Bhutanese ( August 8, 2020), 210 students from class XII and X discontinued their schools and according to Bhutan Canada Foundation (May 21, 2020), 16884 youths did not have accessed to e-learning platforms. Therefore, E-learning resulted in education poverty among those students.

The outbreak of the deadly disease have brought upon changes in education system and mostly for worse. It led to use of technologies in teaching and learning processes over conventional method. While doing so, it made students complacent, hindered learning and led to education poverty among remote section of the society.
