1. Always remember to start your essay with the hook and then background information.
2. Your Hook must be able to grab the attention of the reader by stating a debatable statement that will create an impression on the reader.
For instance, Some say that nuclear war is the greatest threat to the world, on the contrary, Climate Change is the biggest threat to the world and has always been. Nobody on this planet is going to be left untouched by the impacts of climate change. Some say we can't afford to act. But waiting for the right time to act is truly unaffordable. The cost of the inaction will havoc the world.
The above-mentioned hook is also called the pro-con idea, meaning the statement states the opponent's idea yet takes a clear stand by stating the point, i.e. Climate change is the biggest threat to the world.
3. Thereafter, You must state a broad idea and narrow it down to the topic like an upside-down pyramid. While doing so, always remember that you need to clearly state what you are going to talk about by discussing the topic. Remember, debatable statement!
